Our research into toxicology and risk assessment contributes to a better understanding of the mechanisms of actions of chemicals in food and food constituents. We also investigate how exposure to these chemicals and their constituents might affect human health
The main research areas include allergy, alternatives to animal testing, biomarkers and bioactive compounds, botanicals, cancer and genotoxicology, endocrine disrupters, GMO, molecular epidemiology, nanomaterials, novel food, (Q)SAR and risk benefit analysis.
Advising on food safety and health promotion Our evaluations and risk assessments are based on data from hazard assessment and hazard characterisation in combination with exposure assessments.
The risk assessments comprise a thorough scientific basis for our consultancy on food safety and health promotion to the Danish authorities.
Collaborations Several universities and authorities in Denmark and other countries.
