The National Food Institute conduct research into human nutrition, food safety and environment and health.

The overall purpose is to promote consumer access to healthy and safe food products and to prevent diet-related disorders in humans.

Applied research
Through research, risk assessment, and consultancy, we provide the authorities, and other health workers with the scientific basis for the advise they give to the general population. This knowledge is also utilised by private companies and organisations, for example in product development.
