The Danish Integrated Antimicrobial Resistance Monitoring and Research Programme (DANMAP) were established in 1995 and is a co-operation between the Ministry of Family and Consumer Affairs and the Danish Ministry of Health. The objectives of the programme are to:

  • Monitor the occurrence of antimicrobial resistance
  • Monitor consumption of antimicrobial agents
  • Investigate associations between use of antimicrobials in animals and humans and occurrence of resistance among bacteria from animals, food and humans.

DANMAP report annually on the occurrence of antimicrobial resistance in zoonotic, indicator and pathogenic bacteria from animals, food and humans in Denmark. Data are published annually by the Zoonosis Centre
